FAQ’s

  • No — my practice is telehealth only. I don't have a physical office, but I provide secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions from wherever you are. Many clients find this format more convenient and comfortable than in-person therapy.

  • As a PSYPACT member, I am authorized to provide teletherapy in approximately 42 participating states. If you're unsure whether your state is covered, feel free to reach out and I can confirm. I am licensed in Texas and see clients across all PSYPACT-participating states.

  • I am a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. However, I provide superbills — detailed receipts you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend calling the member services number on your insurance card to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits before we begin.

  • It's a brief, no-pressure phone or video call where we can get a sense of whether working together would be a good fit. You can share what's bringing you to therapy, ask me questions about my approach or experience, and decide from there. There's no obligation to book sessions.

  • I work with preteens (ages 10 and up), teens, and adults. I also offer parent consultation for caregivers who want support navigating their child's behavioral or emotional challenges.

  • Yes — this is one of my deepest areas of focus and personal passion. As a South Asian psychologist, I bring both cultural understanding and professional training to this work. You won't need to spend your session explaining cultural context, family dynamics, or why mental health carries stigma in your community. I understand, and I'm here to work within that reality — not around it.

  • Yes. In addition to English, I speak Gujarati and Hindi.

  • The first session is mostly about me getting to know you. I'll ask about what's brought you to therapy, your history, and what you're hoping to work toward. You don't need to have everything figured out — just show up and we'll find the thread together. Sessions are 50 minutes and held via secure video.

  • It varies widely depending on what you're working on, how frequently we meet, and how you engage with the process. Some people find meaningful change in a few months; others work with me for a year or more on deeper issues. I don't believe in keeping clients in therapy longer than is useful — we'll regularly check in on your progress and goals.

  • That's exactly what the free 15-minute consultation is for. No commitment, no pressure. You can ask questions, share a little of what's going on, and see how it feels. The decision is always yours.
